Our Programs

Infant 

6 Weeks to 18 Months

 

Infants are delicate and precious. We provide a 'second home' environment where babies can explore and feel secure. Teachers speak gently and their pace is unhurried.

Sensorial development - We have soft, colorful, gentle sound toys for their sensory stimulation.

Motor development - We follow scientific guidelines for meeting appropriate age milestones, including reaching for toys, and gentle exercises, including tummy time.

Language development - We engage infants with talking, singing, and book reading.

Developmental Milestones - Children at this age are building motor skills like crawling, sitting, standing, and taking their first steps. They are also learning to communicate through actions and sounds.

Toddler 

18 Months to 36 Months

 

Our toddler classroom is happy, and engaging and supports their independence. Their newly found mobility, language, and thought processes are supported by sensorial learning materials which which help to develop pre-writing, mathematics, language, and practical life skills.

 

Practical life - Toddlers learn fine motor skills including pouring, scooping, rolling rugs, zipping, buttoning, and beading.

Sensorial development - These activities allow toddlers to use hand and eye coordination to sequence, form, shape, and move.

Motor development - Full body exercises are important to strengthen muscles and develop coordination.

Language development - Children learn to explain and describe in words and sentences. They also get exposure to pre-reading skills, book reading, group activities, and one-on-one activities.

Mathematics - We use manipulative to show children numbers, sequences, sizes, shapes, and pattern concepts.

Art and music - Our toddlers enjoy rhymes with movements, coloring, crafts, holiday celebrations.

Preschool

3 Years to 5 Years

 

Our preschool program is an academically enriched learning environment. Through the use of materials and activities, and communicating with the teacher and peers, children work on different subjects. They work independently, in a group, while sharing, and taking turns in a multi-age group.

 

Practical life - Daily activities such as hanging up the jacket, putting on socks, buttoning, zipping, and more. 

Sensorial development -  Children enjoy building structures, planting seeds, finger painting activities, and more.

Motor development -  Outdoor play, climbing, sliding, jumping, dancing, and learning yoga.

Language - The Montessori curriculum helps children learn reading and writing. It introduces grammar and sentence formations, story structure, reading with phonics, and more.

Mathematics - Our Montessori materials provide hands-on learning and visual mathematics to number concepts, operations concepts, advance mathematics.

 Art and music - Children learn cutting, gluing, drawing, coloring, playing instruments, and dance movements.

Science & Social Studies - We explore topics "about me", the senses, Earth and space, and more.

Extracurricular activities  - Our children have opportunities to learn chess.

About us – We have reopened the former Brown Academy as Shri Academy in Farmington Hills, Michigan, maintaining the same Montessori learning and childcare program for children from birth to school age.

 

Our services – Childcare services provide nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the children.

 

Our grounds – Our childcare is in a standalone home with beautiful open spaces, play areas, playsets, and a backyard.  Safety fencing surrounds the outdoor areas allowing for freedom within designated play areas.

 

Our building –  The daycare has large windows that provide fresh air and natural lighting. Our state-of-the-art technology supports learning and safety. 

 

Our classrooms – Our classrooms are bright, spacious, and well-organized, following the Montessori childcare and preschool standards, with separate infant, toddler and preschooler areas.  

 

Our environment - Our environment is joyful and nurturing, providing children with enjoyable opportunity for exploration and learning.
